Grinding Edge Tools - Hands-On Intensive with Corn Schmid Aug. 18, 2018 1
Once again we are pleased to be able to offer a class in understanding how to use a grinder!

Corn will teach you how to hollow grind chisels and plane irons to a wire edge -- in just a minute or two. The class will cover topics including:

The difference between sharpening and grinding
When to grind
The geometry of grinding
Classic and modern grinding technology and equipment
Grinder safety
How to dress a grinding wheel
And - most importantly: the techniques needed to grind safely and without burning your tools

This is a hands-on, limited enrollment class.

Tuition includes all tools and materials.
Class participants must bring or purchase safety glasses or goggles and sign a safety waiver.

Update: Class has already been held.

Class fee: $50. All students are given a TFWW gift certificate worth $25.
Parking is available in front of our shop and under the expressway. The subway (R train to 25th street in Brooklyn) is a few blocks away.
